Chair Eagle Arms

This pose strengthens the arms, releases any tension in the shoulders and stretches the muscles in the back.

Sit tall in your chair, keeping the spine straight, feet pressing into the floor and knees and feet hip distance apart.

On an inhalation take both arms out to the side at shoulder height.

Bend the elbows at a 90° degree angle with palms facing towards you and fingers pointed towards the ceiling.

As you exhale bring the arms together, taking the right elbow underneath the left elbow with palms pressed together.

The fingers of the right hand should rest inside the palm of the left hand.

Hold for 5 breaths while keeping the elbows at shoulder height.

Release, unwind the arms, and repeat to the other side taking the left elbow underneath the right elbow.
