March is officially the start of Spring and this is the season of renewal and fresh energy. As nature awakens from its winter slumber, it’s the perfect time to revitalize our bodies and minds by refreshing our yoga routine.
Why do we need a refresh? Well these are just a few of the benefits it can bring:
Yoga detoxifies the body and Spring is the ideal time for cleansing. It stimulates your digestion, improves circulation and flushes out toxins that may have accumulated over the winter.
Yoga boosts energy and mood the longer days and warmer temperatures naturally encourage movement and regular practice invigorates your body, uplifts the spirit, and increases overall vitality.
Yoga enhances flexibility and strength so as we transition from winter yoga helps us to gently stretch and strengthen the body.
Try these three yoga poses to release winter stagnation, boost circulation, and align with the vibrant energy of the season:
Sun Salutation – This dynamic sequence warms up the body, increases circulation, and welcomes the energy of the sun. Turn it into a ritual to start each day and you will soon see the benefit.
Tree Pose – Symbolising growth and stability, this balancing pose connects you to nature while enhancing focus and strength. It improves your posture and alignment and boosts concentration.
Seated Twist – A great detoxifying pose, it helps to remove toxins, improve digestion, and refresh the spine. It can also help relieve lower back pain and strengthen your core.
